It’s been a rather unusual Easter to say the least. However we’ve had a record-breaking autumnal heatwave and the flowers are looking glorious under the blue skies and sunshine.
Easter has often been a time when we’ve travelled over to Europe to see our extended families in the Uk and have a European holiday (see here, here and here for some previous Easter posts in places such as Vienna and Bruges).
This year of course we have been staying close to home. The Easter Bunny made it to Perth – he must have been granted an exemption at the border crossing!Β We made the most of the beautiful weather to enjoy our walks and the garden.
Slightly belated Easter wishes to everyone and stay safe.

We did thanks. No family around made it strange, but everyone’s in the same boat.

Thanks Anabel! I was a bit late with my Easter greetings – hope you had a lovely weekend in spite of the strange times we’re living through π

It’s a very strange situation and really at the moment can’t see how it will all pan out. It seems social distancing will be the new normal for some time to come.

I know, I can see no glimmers of hope yet.

It is indeed a very unusual Easter. It actually didn’t feel like Easter at all as we couldn’t be with our family. Lovely flowers and touch of colours for a rainy day in Montreal… (Suzanne)

Yes it certainly has felt a very strange time Suzanne – not really like Easter at all. At least we have been fortunate with the weather here – hope it soon fines up again with you! π

Lovely weather and lovely flowers! Glad you are keeping safe. Is Mlle able to join you now on your ambles around the neighbourhood?

Thanks Jude – we are lucky with the weather and photographing the flowers on my walks gives me something to do! Yes Mlle is “free” again – finished her self isolation at the end of last week. You are allowed to exercise or be out with any member of your household and also one person who is not. If not a member of your household gatherings are limited to 2 people only, which means she was able to meet a friend for a walk yesterday. You have to observe social distancing though of course (not for couples who live together or parents and children in the same household). These rules apply in Western Australia only – it’s stricter over in the eastern states! Hope you had a good Easter in spite of all the restrictions and all is well π

Gosh, yes, no mingling with anyone outside the family here, even other family members who don’t live in the same household. So very hard on people who care for their parents who live elsewhere.

That’s is very hard Jude. I know my brother has been unable to visit my elderly father for some time. Obviously we have strict restrictions here in WA and regional boundaries within the state but we haven’t so far been in total lockdown and fingers crossed this will continue. The schools are going back at the end of this month too albeit with preventative measures in place eg extra cleaning, no assemblies etc. It is the first tentative steps …we’ll see. Take care X

Looking beautiful π π And I can see that the Easter bunny didn’t leave a crumb behind!

No the Easter bunny’s gifts were soon polished off Jo!! It’s been glorious weather here, which has helped. We are able to get out a bit more now that we have come out of precautionary self isolation (whilst Mlle was doing her mandatory time). Popping down to the local shops did feel weird on Saturday having been home for so long! Hope you had a happy Easter despite the strange and unusual situation! π π
