I did a quick preview of our Alaskan travels just after we got back home here.
I’m now starting to collate and write up the stories of our travels there last August. By way of a superb photographic introduction I’m sharing a gallery of photos taken by an Italian girl named Cecilia who we met on a day tour of Denali National Park. She very kindly let me have some copies with permission to publish them on my blog. I don’t think any further words from me are necessary – grazie molto Cecilia!

Those are amazing! Especially the wildlife ones and the glacier. In awe of Ceciliaβs skills as a photographer.

I know the photos she took are incredible aren’t they – so many beautiful shots of the wildlife and scenery! I’m sorry to say mine won’t be of the same quality – I’ve seriously considered upgrading my camera as I haven’t got a fancy one with all the various lenses. Can’t be bothered to lug it all around though so will stick with my little digital. You do need a good zoom lens to capture the wildlife especially but even with that advantage Cecilia has elevated it to an art form! π π

I was amazed when I first saw them – such a good montage of Alaska as a place too π

Wonderful photos. Some look very similar to the north of Vancouver Island, which is not surprising.

We didn’t get to Vancouver Island unfortunately just not enough time. The scenery is beautiful all the way up that north west coast π

Stunning pictures, my favourite is the red wooden fishing building.

It’s got so much character hasn’t it. Cecilia’s photos really gives a good flavour of the place. Obviously we were there in summer – it must be a harsh life all year round.

What a lovely thing to do, showcasing someone else’s photographs, Rosemay! They’re fabulous π π I especially like that first shot of those beautiful rocks with the splits through them, and the expression on the deer’s face. What a trip! π Hope you are well and enjoying the weekend.

Thanks Jo – I thought Cecilia’s photos were amazing and she was so kind to send them to me with permission to publish on the blog. I love the wildlife photos too – it’s so difficult to capture their expressions. We were so lucky to see a lot of wildlife in Canada and Alaska and I still have so much to write about. This weekend has been busy – was out all yesterday with the family for my birthday. It’s been a lovely weekend – humidity has eased and it’s not too hot but the sun is shining perfect! Hope your weekend has been a good one too π
