Le Chic En Rose

Diaries of an independent traveller

This past year seems to have flown by in a whirl of “busyness” and I haven’t even posted a festive goodwill post yet.

So this is a little round-up of the past couple of weeks including our traditional visit to the Christmas lights in our local suburb,

….an enjoyable family Christmas outing to the “Monet in Paris” exhibition in Perth,

… and finally our festive table setting in our courtyard garden (obviously it’s reverse seasons here “Down Under”!).

Perhaps it is naive, but hoping for more peace and tranquillity in the world during the coming months.

Wishing everyone very good wishes for 2024!

No, no, no! There really should not be a snowman in Perth! 😂
The Monet exhibition looks very good and, as always, your table is most inviting. Hope you had a good Christmas with your family and I agree, it would be nice if we could achieve world peace in 2024. Sadly I don’t hold out much hope. Best wishes for you and your family Rosemary xx

    1. We still like the idea of a traditional Christmas Jude though I do agree though a snowman wouldn’t last long in Perth! The koala is probably more appropriate.
The Monet exhibtion was excellent 🙂
Thanks we had a lovely Chritsmas – it was actually quite cool this year though of course we can still be outside (did need a light jacket though).
Hope you and your family also had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year too! 🙂

    1. Thanks Suzanne 🙂 Yes hoping for the best in 2024 but as far as world peace goes not expecting it.
Hope however that you had a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year 🙂

Your outdoor area is looking lovely, Rosemary! Tim and I went to see the Christmas lights quite late to avoid the crowds. So busy this year. The one house without lights always makes us laugh.

    1. Thanks Isabel! We’d hoped to avoid the crowds too but it was very busy! Yes the one house that never puts lights always looks a little out of place . I believe it is a rental so maybe that explains things. Hope you’ve had a good New Year so far!

Didn’t even see this, Rosemay. I really have been out of circulation, working on the blog for distraction whenever I could focus. Need to focus on a Monday post right now! Bound to be busy when you have family close by, hon, and you are so lucky in that respect. Looks like a good time was had. All the very best for 2024! We had 21C here this afternoon, which was bliss for winter.

    1. No problem at all Jo – just nice to see you back and feeling a little better now. It would have been lovely to see your family in the UK though not so good you acquired an illness on the way back. 21 degrees sounds perfect for a winter’s day 🙂 We get temperatures like that here in the winter too but then it’s often very cold at night. If the sky is clear it’s milder in the day but then it really hits you in the evenings and mornings! Hopefully you’re strating to feel more like yourself – take care and have a good weekend xx
