January has flown by and the long summer holidays are officially over – school went back this week and as seems to be tradition the weather has heated up!
We’ve spent the past month or so out and about most days with several overseas visitors enjoying the (up to now) milder summer weather and also taking advantage of the summer film festivals and another favourite of ours the Perth Fringe Festival.
I have still been taking photos though not blogging as much, so by way of a recap here is a photo montage of January summer days (see here for various previous posts I’ve done about Perth and its environs).
I’ve set myself the challenge of finishing my Canada and Alaska series before we head off again to the northern hemisphere at the end of April!

Wonderful photos, Rosemay! I especially like the one with the bike laid on the grass and the one beside it of the family, strolling. π π What a beautiful area Perth is! I can certainly see the attractions. Have a good week, now things are settling again.

Thanks Jo – I must confess Monsieur took the photo of the bike on the grass, he was on a bike ride with a friend! The coastal paths and views are magnificent at any time of year here. Yes back into routine this week and catching up on a lot of jobs. Off out again tonight though – this time a jazz evening part of the summer Fringe Festival. Hope you have a lovely and enjoyable weekend π π

Beautiful photos Rosemary – looks lovely and sunny and just what I need to see today. Been so darn wet and windy this week. Perth does look so lovely, I am sorry to have missed out on visiting it again. It has changed a lot since I was there in 2003.

Sorry to hear the weather is so inclement Jude – does not sound much fun. It’s cooling down somewhat this week but still in the 20s so I better not complain. Actually we’ve had a very windy summer but it’s so nice to get the cooling breeze off the ocean. Yes Perth has changed quite a bit particularly with the Elizabeth Quay and Yagan Square developments (the latter in Northbridge). However the feeling of space is still here. Hope the weather improves with you! π

Gorgeous pictures you really do a good job of selling our beautiful city! The weather is definitely heating up but won’t be long and we will be dreading the chilly mornings.

Thanks Mel – Perth is a beautiful place! And yes it’s really been a relatively cool summer by our standards and it does get very cold overnight in winter! Still I do like the change of seasons π
