Alas after being temperamental for the past few weeks my home computer decided to have a total nervous breakdown yesterday collapsing into repeated blue screens with “the kiss of death” then it packed up altogether. Hence I’m only able to use my iPad for the next few days whilst it is at the computer repair shop. I don’t find the WordPress for iPad app at all user friendly but it may just be me!!
So an abridged version of this week’s planned post! We had a lovely day out at Araluen Botanic Park about 45 minutes south east of central Perth in the hills suburb of Roleystone last month. Spring is always a highlight here with the tulips a big attraction. This year even in October they were not fully out as a result of the colder than average winter we have had. They were still pretty impressive though and the wisteria was magnificent. We took our two granddaughters on the little train, which trundles through the park and admired the extensive collection of camellias and rhododendrons. Chalet Healy makes a great lunch spot and we were also entertained by a Celtic musical band playing in the grounds near the cascading stream. In the meantime here are a few photos from our recent day out. Hopefully my computer will be restored to normal service by next week!

Tulips, rhodies and wisteria! What a treat, Rosemay. 🙂 I can sympathise over the PC. If my laptop’s not working I’m up the creek! Got a new mini version to take away with me but it’s taking a little getting used to. Wishing you a happy weekend 🙂

Thanks Jo – Araluen is a very special place 😀 I’m getting by on my iPad but don’t find the WordPress site very easy to navigate and I can’t do as much stuff for my posts on there – none of the links would work so I gave up! Pehaps I should consider a laptop it might be the way to go. Am hoping my computer will be back early next week – it’s rather frustrating but these things happen. Have a lovely rest of your weekend 😃

Maybe a good time to forget about the computer and just enjoy life, but that’s easier said than done. I had to choose between iPad and laptop for my birthday and I’m not sure if it’s the right choice.

Ye it’s definitely a good lesson – there are plenty of other things to do other than be on a computer! I love my iPad but you can’t work on it like you can on a laptop eg for writing articles etc or perhaps you can but I’m not using it correctly! Even my three year old granddaughter knows how to use a computer they seem to be born with the skill these days!

Thanks Suzanne! I’m hoping it will be ok as I have backed my photos up onto a disk and I always save old memory cards from cameras. Still I wouldn’t want to lose them all off the computer. Hopefully will get the computer back as good as new this coming week! 😃

Indeed we do Annette – not everywhere of course some places would be too hot and dry or tropical. We actually have a lovely wisteria creeper that drapes down the front of our garage – it’s so pretty! Araluen is especially good for growing camellias too – it gets more rain than the Perth metro area as it’s up in the hills and is a bit cooler too so that helps the plants and flowers to thrive 😃

Tulips and wisteria – my two favourites Rosemary so this would be my perfect day out. The little train looks like fun too. Hope your computer gets well soon – I had a similar problem a year or so ago, I was completely lost until it came back!!

We always love an outing here Joy especially in the spring as the flowers are stunning! First time we went on the little train and it was great fun! Yes I’m hoping I get the computer back well and healthy again before too long! I don’t find typing on the iPad as easy and autocorrect can be rather annoying especially when it types strange words!

I’m not keen on the WP app either, though it’s better than it used to be. Lovely pictures, however they arrived onscreen!

Thanks Anabel – I was relieved the photos came out ok on the post! It’s certainly not the same as doing the posts on the computer. I couldn’t put links in or arrange the photos in galleries but it is useful to have the app on my iPad for times when I can’t access the computer. Hoping I will get it back soon though!

I miss galleries, but I can usually get links to work. The best bit is for keeping track of comments.
