Le Chic En Rose

Diaries of an independent traveller

Post flu lethargy and a busy weekend have not been conducive to blog writing! With another wild and wet weekend we are beginning to think spring has got lost en route to Perth this year! C’est pas normale! So on this chilly Sunday evening, it’s nice to be able to carry on sorting though the photos of our Italian trip in April where the gardens were a riot of spring colour. Here are a few photos from our visit to the stunning Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo. The gardens were a never ending treasure trove – they spread out in a series of walkways and paths from the steep terraces. Full post to follow this week!

  1. Villa Carlotta is beautiful! When visiting Bellagio, we only saw it from the other side.

(this post reminds me: I still have some articles to write from our trip to Italy 🙂 )

    1. When we saw it from the lake I had no idea how extensive the gardens were Johanna – they go for ever and so beautifully laid out! Look forward to seeing your other articles and photos from Italy! 🙂

  2. Beautiful pictures Rosemary – the colours are just stunning. Hope you’re well on the mend now, shaking off the flu is not so easy!! Hope your weather improves too, we’ve still lucked out with more sunshine!

    1. Thanks Joy – these were some pretty stunning gardens! The colours were gorgeous with all those pretty pinks and reds. Yes it’s just the post flu feeling – I was still feeling so tired last week and then we had a busy weekend! Just got back from a long walk (got caught in the rain!) but pleased to be out and about again. Yes it was apparently our coldest September since records began and our coldest winter for 30 years – no wonder we’ve all been feeling it! Enjoy the sunny weather and have a great week! 🙂

It’s lovely to look back on holiday photos and sunny days when the local weather is grey and rain. It’s still showery here in Tassie too.

    1. Yes it certainly lifts the spirits Ruth! It has fined up here for a couple of days so hope it does the same with you. We’re not used to cold wet starts to spring!

We’re heading up to the tulip fields on north west coast tomorrow. Hope there are still some flowers to see, that they haven’t all been flattened or blown away. We’ve bought gum boots for the trip!

        1. Hope the tulips will still look lovely Ruth! We’re hoping to get down to the Araluen Botanical Gardens and see the tulips there too this weekend. After a taste of spring these past couple of days we’re expecting a big storm overnight too. Hope you have a lovely trip! 🙂
